Texas weather is fairly unpredictable. That is one reason I like living here. You never know what you are going to get. For the past several weeks, we have had weather that has ranged in temperatures from 75 to 15 degrees. The cold weather is novel, for a few days, and then it is nice to go back to the warmer temperatures. However, the cold weather leaves new moms with the question of how to keep their child engaged and occupied when the weather does not allow us to venture out.
When we had 15 degree temperatures, we did not go anywhere. I was terrified of the cold weather getting my little boy sick and I was not up for slipping and falling on the ice. After a day of this, our little one began to go stir crazy. And we did too. It is hard to be holed up for too long. Don't get me wrong, it is fun and cozy for a day, but gets old after a while.
So, I began to look for creative outlets for our baby. We started making baby food, we read and played in a tent, we had activities during bath time and we worked on baby sign language. But, I found myself looking for other fun activities that can be used during snowy weather or rainy weather. Leave me a comment and let me know what you do to keep your kiddos occupied and engaged during bad weather days.
