Trying to decide how to help my 18-month-old granddaughter, Allie, accept her new brother is total guesswork.
However, my daughter and I have decided that maybe a baby doll for her to change diapers, feed a bottle, and generally all around take care of while Mommy is taking care of baby brother would be great. To really make the impact we are hoping for, this baby doll is going to be a gift from her new baby brother.
Now to decide which kind of doll to get. Well, what can they do and what comes with them? One doll has diapers that can be changed along with a diaper bag, extra diapers, and a bottle. The other has a cute little blanket and a bottle to feed her. They both provide many accessories, including a crib that costs as much as my daughter’s when she was born. Her new brother is scheduled to appear in two weeks, so we had better decide quickly which one to get.
What have you done to get your little one ready for their new brother or sister?
