Well, I am happy to report the blood pregnancy test was positive! What a glorious day! My hormone level was 194 which is a great first number. How blessed we are. I have another test this Friday, the same day Brett has surgery, to check and make sure the levels are rising.

I had some progress since my last entry which was my follow up blood test to make sure my levels were rising -- and I am happy to say they were! Those levels were 507 which was another good strong level. Now I am waiting on our first sonogram. Today I am just a couple of days shy of being six weeks. I must admit this isn’t real to me yet. I am hoping the sonogram will help and I of course hope that everything on the sonogram looks okay. The nausea has definitely kicked in, though. It is all very strange. Not that I am “sick” per say but there is just nothing that sounds good as far as food. Even if I do order a favorite food about a third of the way through I am done. It's almost like being on a really good diet pill! So, fingers crossed that we will get some positive news on July 18th.

We got to see our little pea in the pod today. They did a vaginal ultrasound so we got to hear the heartbeat as well which was pretty cool. Everything looked great! I will say that we were secretly hoping both embryos attached and we would have twins, but the sonogram revealed only one so that will be just fine. At least Brett got to be there this time -- even if it was on crutches! I go back in two weeks for another sonogram and I am still giving myself shots of progesterone in oil. I must say that is getting old. I am running out of spots to stick myself! Oh well, just a couple more weeks of that. My due date is March 7th which seems so far away but I’m sure it will be here before we know it.
Until next time!
