William Shakespeare's, Hamlet - "God has given you one face, and you make yourself another."
Ever get so caught up in being Mom, Daughter, Employee, etc. that you never make time for yourself?
When was the last time you left the children with a sitter... and hit the door running!
Recently, my husband and I embarked on a glorious trip.
Imagine - five days and four nights of "adult time."
We had adventures beyond the cosmic explanation! For instance... We stayed up late; we tried to sleep in. We took long baths. We ate at non-kid-friendly dining establishments. Most importantly - we got a chance to talk. And it was about topics other than child rearing or work... Well, mostly. :)
We emerged from our vacation with a renewed appreciation for one another as people - not just Mom and Dad.
Of course we missed our children - but taking time for ourselves allowed us to re-focus, so we can be the best parents - and partners - that we can be.
How often do you treat yourself to some adult time?
